Pholcus on the Family

Last night the Longbodied Cellar Spider, Pholcus phalangioides, that lives in corner of my bike cage, was holding a ball of eggs.  I can’t wait for its eggs to hatch so the spiderlings can grow up to capture all the mosquitoes buzzing around the cage.  Longbodied cellar spiders have wide big webs, which are perfect for catching the hapless mosquito that strays too close.
